For years’ different generations of former students have harbored the idea and the dream of an Alumni Association to bring together all former students, who went through their secondary education at the school since 1958, to connect with their alma mater and participate in the development and Governance of their school as they Network, Socialize and build partnerships with each other.
On 31st march 2023 a meeting called to discuss the possibility of the idea and attended by 11 former students, tasked a former student, Mr. Juma Hemedi M. to chair and coordinate a steering committee to help realize this dream. After a series of planning meetings an application was formally made and the association was legally registered on 27th April 2023 by the Registrar of Societies. Chania High School Formally allowed the Association to use the name “Chania High School” in its registration.
The Association will be officially launched on 10th June June 2023 in an event expected to be graced by many former students and invited guests and will be covered live through social media platforms to enable former students in the diaspora be able to follow the proceedings.
